Sports massage has been around for quite a few years, but it has grown in popularity over the last years. And this is especially true in CrossFit.
Sports massage is used for a number of different reasons, but it is especially effective in aiding recovery, improving mobility, and treating and preventing injury. This makes it a perfect tool within sports performance (read: CrossFit) to help improve individual performance.
We are very excited to announce that as from now Sports Massage will be available at CrossFit Heerlen from Sports Masseur and CrossFit Trainer (CF-L1), Stephanie Stulin.

The prime purpose of Sports Massage is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during exercise, competition or every day activities.

For those that don’t know me, my name is Stephanie. In 2013 I started doing the Sports Academy CIOS and I’m a 3rd years student of Physical Therapy at Hogeschool Zuyd. Besides being a CrossFitter myself and a CrossFit Trainer at CrossFit Heerlen I’m also a qualified Sports Masseur.
I am also keen on weightlifting and that’s what you will catch me doing most at CrossFit Heerlen! Through my studies and my sport, I have gained knowledge about the impact of exercise on the body and the importance of injury prevention. Having done many sports massage treatments, I have seen the benefits in training, recovery and, ultimately, performance.
For anyone participating in CrossFit and other regular physical activity, Sports Massage can be a great addition to your normal training program. Treatment sessions can be tailored to individual requirements following initial assessment.
